Challenge

Eleve, a design studio, recognized the need to support new designers in gaining practical experience. The challenge lay in creating temporary job opportunities with smaller clients, like startups, while simultaneously preparing these designers for a robust start in their professional journey.

Approach

We began by conducting thorough primary and secondary market research to uncover opportunities for new designers. This informed our creation of a tailored business model.

To synthesize and organize the information collected we used the following tools:

  • Matrix of Benefits

  • Journey Maps

Insights:

  1. Challenging Beginnings: Both end users shared a similar pain point, starting a career is not easy and neither is starting a business.

  2.  Teach Me How to Walk: The students have all the knowledge but lack the experience, they express interest in being mentees while starting a job position.

To develop the program's experience, we used a service blueprint, allowing us to make thoughtful decisions about the journey and every touchpoint within the program, ensuring it was beneficial for both the designers and the small businesses involved.
